(March 16, 2012 | ABC News) Osama Bin Laden Plot to Kill President Obama and David Petraeus. — The Washington Post’s David Ignatius has a good scoop about papers found in the Osama bin Laden compound.  ABC News can confirm that bin Laden wrote to others in al Qaeda about a plot to kill President Obama and General David Petraeus, then the commander of coalition forces in Afghanistan,  writing: “The reason for concentrating on them, is that Obama is the head of infidelity and killing him automatically will make Biden take over the presidency… Biden is totally  unprepared for that post, which will lead the U.S. into a crisis. As for Petraeus, he is the man of the hour … and killing him would alter the (Afghanistan) war’s path.”

(March 15, 2012 | CNN) UK woman arrested over suspected terror offenses. London — A 40-year-old woman was arrested Thursday in south London on suspicion of terror offenses, the Metropolitan Police said. She was detained in the early hours by counterterrorism officers and taken to a police station for questioning, a police statement said. A home is also being searched. Her arrest is in connection with the alleged posting of extremist material on the Internet. ”We are liaising with the Italian authorities to establish whether there is any link to an arrest they made earlier this morning,” the statement added. Italian police said they had arrested a 20-year-old Moroccan-born man early Thursday in northern Italy on suspicion of planning an attack on a synagogue in Milan. Claudio Galzerano, head of the anti-terrorist unit of the Italian police, told CNN in a phone interview that the suspect, Jarmoune Mohamed, had been detained in the city of Brescia. Police found detailed plans of the synagogue on Via della Guastella in Milan on Mohamed’s computer. He described the operation as an “important preventive operation” but also said there was “a very high risk” that the planned attack might be carried out.

(March 15, 2012 | ABC News) One dead, several injured in Texas Courthouse Shooting — The woman who police say was shot and run over with a truck by her father in front of a Texas courthouse had accused both her father and her uncle of sexually assaulting her, authorities told ABCNews.com today. Bartholomew Granger, 41, was scheduled to appear in a Beaumont, Texas, court Wednesday afternoon and his 20-year-old daughter was expected to continue her testimony against him that she began Tuesday in his sexual assault trial. Granger opened fire at the courthouse as his ex-wife and daughter were about the enter the building, wounding both of them, police said. He then drove his truck over his daughter, according to police. The shooting at the courthouse erupted at 11:21 a.m. Wednesday when Granger allegedly began firing from a truck in front of the Jefferson County Courthouse.
In addition to his daughter and ex-wife, Granger shot at two bystanders, killing 79-year-old Minnie Ray Seabolt, police said. After Granger’s truck was disabled, he ran about one block to a business and took hostages inside the establishment.

(February 28, 2012 | CBS) Miami, FLA – A Miami man who made a threat against President Barack Obama during his recent South Florida stop has bonded out of jail. According to a federal complaint against Joaquin Serrapio, 20, the Secret Service said it received a tip from the Coral Gables Police Department that a Facebook account. Serrapio operated under the alias “Jay Valor” used the account to make public threats against the life of President Barack Obama.

Upstate NY man accused of threatening to kill Obama, elementary schoolchildren.
(March 3, 2012 | AP) SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. — An upstate New York man is accused of threatening to kill President Barack Obama and elementary schoolchildren in Saratoga County. Prosecutors say the U.S. Secret Service and local authorities collaborated to arrest Brent Dickinson of Saratoga Springs. The 33-year-old man “intended to murder” the targets of his threatening messages. They said the U.S. Secret Service intercepted two threatening messages posted by Dickinson on a White House message board Friday.

(AP | Mar. 2, 2012) SAN FRANCISCO – Cyber-threats Now Number 1 Threat to US, FBI Director Says. The director of the FBI told an annual gathering of cyber-security professionals on Thursday that the agency needs the private sector to help combat what he believes is becoming the nation’s No. 1 threat. FBI Director Robert Mueller reiterated his testimony before the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in January that cyber-threats would surpass terrorism as the country’s top concern.

“We are losing data, we are losing money, we are losing ideas and we are losing innovation,” Mueller said at the RSA Conference in San Francisco. “Together we must find a way to stop the bleeding.” The dangers posed by organized cyber-crime, rogue hacktivists and computer breaches backed by foreign governments have become a focus for the FBI.

Phoenix gang members were believed to be involved.

CHARDON, Ohio — A teen gunman opened fire inside a high school cafeteria at the start of the classes on Monday, killing one student and wounding four others, police said. The suspect, T.J. Lane, was taken into custody near his car a half-mile from the suburban Cleveland school after a teacher chased him from the building, according to FBI officials. The suspect is a juvenile. Two of the victims are in critical condition.

(Feb. 17, 2012 | CNN) Terror Attack Plot on U.S. Capitol Foiled. Washington D.C. — A 29-year-old man from Morocco was arrested Friday and charged with attempting to bomb the U.S. Capitol building in a suicide attack, authorities said. Suspect Amine El Khalifi made an initial appearance in court and, if convicted, faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, according to the Justice Department.

He allegedly went to a parking garage near the Capitol on Friday and received what he thought was a vest with explosives and a firearm, both of which had been rendered inoperable by law enforcement. He was arrested before leaving the garage.

“Today’s case underscores the continuing threat we face from homegrown violent extremists,” said Assistant Attorney General for National Security Lisa Monaco. “Thanks to a coordinated law enforcement effort, El Khalifi’s alleged plot was thwarted before anyone was harmed.”

The suspect was charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction against government property.

Web sites — The CIA’s Web site was down this afternoon in what looked like a distributed denial-of-service attack publicized by online activist group Anonymous. With the CIA site inaccessible, the Twitter account for @YourAnonNews tweeted “CIA TANGO DOWN: cia.gov #Anonymous” and included a link to a news story about the outage on Russian site RT.com. Earlier today a hacker or group going by the moniker “Casi” took credit for hacking the Web site of the United Nations. Websites in Mexico and Alabama were also targeted, according to CNN.

(Huffington Post | January 27, 2012) – TEENS ARRESTED IN SCHOOL BOMB PLOT IN UTAH. Roy, Utah — The two teens had a detailed plot, blueprints of the school and security systems, explosives, hours of flight simulator training on a home computer and a plan to flee the country. Dallin Morgan, 18, and a 16-year-old friend were arrested Wednesday at Roy High School, about 30 miles north of Salt Lake City, after a fellow student reported that she received ominous text messages from one of the suspects.
“We ain’t gonna crash it, we’re just gonna kill and fly our way to a country that won’t send us back to the U.S.,” read another message. One text message noted they sought “revenge on the world.” The suspects say they were inspired by the deadly 1999 Columbine High School shootings in Littleton, Colo., and the younger suspect even visited the school last month to interview the principal about the shootings and security measures.
